Auguste & Louis
Devimco Immobilier asked us to develop a branding rich in culture for their new real estate project which will be located in the heart of the Quartier des Lumières in Montreal.
By proposing the name Auguste & Louis, we pay tribute to the two brothers who played a key role in the history of cinema and photography. They are the fathers of the first collective projections of photographic films on the big screen for a gathered public as well as instant dry photographic plates. They are visionaries and pioneers of their time. The Lumière brothers are human genius at the service of an idea.
The project is divided in two phases. The first phase being Auguste and the second one, Louis. A highlighting effect is therefore created within the logo depending on which phase we are talking about. This effect is achieved by toning down the rest of the logo with a fine outline and leaving only one of the names in solid mass.
